Sickness. Disappointment. Heartache. Frustration.
My week has been full of all of it and more. I go to a few places when my heart feels heavy. I go to the Spirit my soul calls Friend and Comforter. I go to the mystics that have gone before me. I go to my camera that always helps me find light… even in the darkness.
God alone is enough
Let nothing upset you,
let nothing startle you.
All things pass;
God does not change.
Patience wins
all it seeks.
Whoever has God
lacks nothing:
God alone is enough.
-St Teresa Avila
Solitude is not something you must hope for in the future. Rather, it is a deepening of the present, and unless you look for it in the present you will never find it.
~Thomas Merton
A Love Poem from St. Augustine
Late have I loved you,
Beauty so old and so new:
Late have I loved you.

And see, you were within
And I was within the external world
And sought you there,
And in my unlovely state
I plunged into those lovely created things
which you made
The lovely things kept me far from you
Though if they did not have their existence in you
They had no existence at all.

You called and cried out loud
And shattered my deafness
You were radiant and resplendent,
You put to flight my blindness.
You were fragrant,
And I drew in my breath and now pant after you.
I tasted you,
And I feel but hunger and thirst for you.
You touched me,
And I am set on fire to attain the peace which is yours.

May the peace of the Spirit be with you today.
