My darling husband gave me a new Canon 5Diii and a 35mm 1.4Lii for my birthday. Like every good photographer, I read the manual, charged the battery, and carefully thought of my very first shot.
No, I am kidding. I did not do that.
I am away on vacation with my family. We are enjoying none of us having homework or any work of any kind. It has been awesome. We have also had a few sips of tequila. Maybe. So, the first time I picked up my magical camera and dream lens, it was after a night of drinking, singing, and dancing. As we cleaned up from our night of fun, we were listening to some happy tunes. Tequila… plus happy tunes… plus my family… equals karaoke in the kitchen.
Luckily, I had the tools to capture it.
Here are my handsome husband and darling daughter singing, dancing, and doing dishes… like we do.
I know, this one is a little blurry. I blame the tequila.
This is my husband trying to tease about my “hands holding stuff” series. This is also my daughter eating a cookie at 2am. No really, I am a great mom.
The song suddenly got very serious. It was a good night. A very good night.
I love this! happy birthday! partying with my dad is one of my favorite things. your daughter is lucky to have TWO cool parents. 🙂
Thank you! I love how he loves the girls. They are so lucky!

Thank you! I am thankful there is someone out there that loves the blurry moments too!

Wow! Amazing photos! You are so much fun and such an inspiration!
Thank you, Sloan!
Blurry, black and white, chocolate chip, singing in the kitchen, tequila photos are the absolute best ones.
Ya, you’re awesome like that.
Will you adopt me? 🙂
Yes! Come on over!
You inspire me to capture more moments with the people I love.
Also, I want to come along on your family vacations 🙂
Also, that 3rd photograph played tricks on my mind – “why is her daughter’s leg so very hairy?” 😉
Enjoy the camera/lens and happy summer!
I think I want to try and capture more of real life too! Thank you!
Awesomeness!!!
Completely awesome!!!
oh my gosh, that is beyond awesome — and that you shared it too. Awesome in the true meaning of that word.
