One way I want to improve my photography this year is to be a better storyteller through my images. I know the only way I can do that is to practice. Life has taught me that I am horrible at putting deadlines on myself. I need to be part of a larger whole to keep me accountable. I was excited when I had the opportunity to be a part of a 10 on 10 blogroll. Each month I will post 10 images on my blog. I will be linking to other photographers that are doing the same thing. While our blogroll doesn’t have strict rules about the ten images, I have decided that I will try to tell a story or take them all on the same day.
My husband and youngest daughter have been away on a trip to Africa. While here at home, my beautiful daughters have been keeping my busy. One day my oldest, Kyle, took me to one of her favorite coffee shops in town. All images are taken on my Canon 1N loaded with Kodak Portra 800. While I loved being able to take pictures inside and outside with out worrying about ISO, I am not thrilled about the grain. I think I will stick with Kodak Portra 400.
Hop on over to Rachel Bond’s lovely 10 on 10 images here.
I think these are really great. I love how you captured the details of your trip to the coffee shop with your daughter. I think the grain adds to the story and the images. One day, I would love to learn how to shoot film. Lovely work!
Thank you!
What a great 10 on 10. I keep looking at my film camera in their cabinet and saying I will one out today… then I don’t. Gahhhh…. I’m hopeless. 🙂 Love the guy in the last shot checking your girl out.
i love your film work.
Thank you!
