I have been in bed for over a week with a sinus infection and pneumonia.  I am so sick of being sick.  My body is starting to have the aches and pains from lying for so long.  My mind is starting to feel the sadness and frustration of being a burden to my family.  My heart is breaking as my tree continues to bloom without me well enough to shoot it.

I went out and shot a few photos from the ground, looking up into my tree.  I usually climb a ladder to capture her blooms, but I was hardly well enough to even go outside.  I am so sad I am missing it.

Here are a few images looking up into my lovely Japanese Magnolia, sprinkled with a few words of wisdom my heart needed.

Nothing in all creation is so like God as stillness.
— Meister Eckhart

To be is a blessing. To live is holy.
— Rabbi Abraham Heschel

“You do not have to be good.
You do not have to walk on your knees
for a hundred miles through the desert, repenting.
You only have to let the soft animal of your body
love what it loves.
Tell me about despair, yours, and I will tell you mine.
Meanwhile the world goes on.
Meanwhile the sun and the clear pebbles of the rain
are moving across the landscapes,
over the prairies and the deep trees,
the mountains and the rivers.
Meanwhile the wild geese, high in the clean blue air,
are heading home again.
Whoever you are, no matter how lonely,
the world offers itself to your imagination,
calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting –
over and over announcing your place
in the family of things.”
-Mary Oliver

“Hope, O my soul, hope. You know neither the day nor the hour. Watch carefully, for everything passes quickly, even though your impatience turns a very short time into a long one.”
— Teresa of Ávila
