While I was in Sicily with my husband my first and favorite medium format camera, a Mamiya 645, jammed. I brought it home and hoped it was something simple and something that could be fixed. I received the official word yesterday that she is not repairable.

When I first received her I named her Lucy. I took Lucy everywhere. She was able to see what I see. She was a heavy beast, but it was worth it to lug around town. She never let me down.

Good-bye, Lucy. Thank you for helping fall in love with film and for all of our adventures.
Lucy you did your job and did it well RIP.
So so sad! Film cameras have such personality, and I can imagine how very sad it is to lose this one 😦 Such a gorgeous set of photographs! ❤
Such beautiful photos….it’s sad that she’s not repairable.
